The weather

The region enjoys a mild climate due to influence of the Ocean and the Gulf Stream. It is considered a temperate sea climate due to which the summers are not overly warm, with an average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. The nights are usually pleasantly cool. During the winter months the average temperature goes down to 10 degrees Celsius. Throughout the year on most days the temperature lies about 5 to 10 degrees above Northern European temperatures. The area’s 2200 annual hours of sun are on par with the Mediterranean. 

Precipitation

The rain, which mostly falls during the night, stimulates the natural environment to be lush and green. During the month of June the precipitation averages 30-60 mm, in the month of July it averages 6-30mm and in August 30-60mm. During the remaining months it averages 60-100mm.

The weather tends to be quite pleasant in the pre- and after seasons during most years.
